 LGi Junior Golf.

At LGi we have a huge belief that all golfers especially Junior Golfers whether abled or less abled should have the opportunity to partake in golf at one of our facilities. During the sessions that we hold for Junior golfers not only are we instructing them to improve their golfing ability but also helping our pupils become better human beings. So many youngesters find it tough to either fit in or survive todays society, we believe that golf gives everyone an outlet. A golf facility is somewhere where junior golfers can express themselves and most importantly whatever we are working on we are doing it in a safe & secure environment and top of our list ..... They are having fun at the same time!
The core values that we help our students with are there to guide our young people through their lives. So many values we will have received from our parents, many unfortunately have been forgotton or dismissed in todays society!

The values that we hold within the Institute are:-

Honesty - "The Quality or State Of Being Truthful; Not Deceptive".
Golf Is Unique From Other Sports In That Players Regularly Call Penalties On Themselves And Report Their Own Score.

Integrity - "Strict Adherence To A Standard Of Value Or Conduct; Personal Honesty & Independence".
Golf Is A Game Of Etiquette And Composure. Players Are Responcible For Their Actions And Personal Conduct On The Golf Course Even At Times When Others May Not Be Looking.

Sportsmanship - "Observing The Rules Of Play & Winning Or Losing The Grace".
Players Must Know And Abide By The Rules Of Golf And Be Able To Conduct Themselves In A Kind And Respectful Manner Towards Others Even In A Competitive Game.

Respect - "To Feel Or Show Deferential Regards For; Esteem".
In Golf It Is Important To Show Respect For Oneself, Players Partners, Fellow Competitiors, The Golf Course, And For The Honor And Traditions Of The Game.

Confidence - "Reliance Or Trust. A Feeling Of Self-Assurance".
Confidence Plays A Key Role In The Level Of Play That One achieves. Players Can Increase Confidence In Their Abilities By Being Positive & Focusing On Something They Are Doing Well Regardless Of The Outcome.

Responsibility - "Accounting For One's Actions; Dependable".
Players Are Responsible For Their Actions On The Golf Course. It Is Up To Them To Keep Score, Repair Divots, Rake Bunkers, Repair Ball Marks On The Putting Green And Keep Up With The Pace Of Play.

Perseverance - "To Persist In An Idea, Purpose Or Task Despite Obstacles".
To Succeed In Golf, Players Must Continue Through Bad Breaks And Their Own Mistakes, While Learning From Past Experiences.

Courtesy - "Considerate Bahaviour Toward Other; A Polite Remark Or Gesture.
A Round Of Golf Should Begin And End With A Handshake Between Fellow Competitors. Players Also Should Be Still Quiet While Others Are Preparing And Performing A Shot.

Judgement - "The Ability To Make A Decision Or Form An Opinion; A Decision Reached After Consideration".
Using Good Judgement Is Very Important In Golf. It Comes Into Play When Deciding On Strategy, Club Selection, When To Play Safe And When To Take A Chance, The Type Of Shot Players Consider Executing, As Well As Making Healthy Choices On And Off The Golf Course.

At LGi we have many options for Juniors to get into the beautiful game of golf at one of our facilities. We have individual golf lessons for either 30mins or 60 mins or a Saturday morning group classfor your children to join. All prices include unlimited golf balls during the session.

All junior coaching is undertaken by our very own Jon Jones, who is not only fully CRB checked, a first aider, certified by the Golf Foundation and disabled Golf Foundation but also has been through many many Junior coaching classes as both a coach but also as a student (Jon started to play the game when he was only 5 years of age).

All LGi coaches and volunteers have taken and passed a full CRB check.

LGi is currently working hard towards the Range Mark Accreditation.

The role of the golf driving ranges is fundamental to golf development in England and clearly they are a starting point for the majority of newcomers to this great game. They provide a variety of coaching and practice opportunities.
Range Mark has been created to regognise those stand-alone ranges that are at the forefront of developing the game and this initiative has been developed and refind 'By Golf Ranges For Golf Ranges'.
